Hindi, despite figuring in the world’s top five most widely spoken languages, has failed to find a place even in the top ten languages on the internet, according to a study by the InternetWorldStats.com. Currently, Out of 6,000 popular languages spoken globally only 12 account for 98 per cent of the web content, with English being most prominent among them.
